Unsuccessful draw
If collection cannot be completed safely, the collector will stop. The final policy will explain the available recollection, rescheduling or refund route.
Unsuitable sample
Clotting, haemolysis, insufficient volume, labelling or stability issues may prevent one or more analyses.
Delay or loss
Courier or laboratory disruption can affect stability and turnaround. AK-LABS will investigate and explain the appropriate recollection, repeat or refund remedy.
Repeat analysis
A laboratory may repeat an assay for quality-control reasons or refer a test to another facility, which can extend the estimate.
Recollection
Where recollection is appropriate, the final policy will say whether it is complimentary, which analytes are affected, whether new preparation is required and how quickly it should take place.
Retesting after an unexpected result
A repeat test may help confirm a result, but the timing and panel should be guided by the nature of the finding and appropriate clinical advice. AK-LABS will not imply that every abnormal result should simply be retested privately.
